A terrific classical music sojourn!

The purpose of this CD set is to take the listener through the various periods of classical music, from Gregorian Chant up to the contemporary period, ending with the First Movement of "City Life" by Steve Reich. The FOUR CDs in this set supplement the music appreciation text: The Norton Recordings to Accompany the Norton Scores and the Enjoyment of Music: Shorter Version. However, you don't need the book at all to savor the superb selections found on the CD.
