This is the first installment of Simon White's Jethro Cockerill Penhaligon series. It's an easy read--you can glide right through this and probably knock it off in a long evening. The ship action is fierce and it is set up as a mystery. Good reading as far as sea novels go. However, the action of our hero is not limited to knocking off Frogs; he gets plenty with the women, so much so that it's really annoying, especially when he engages with a woman to extract information--all in the line of duty! God save the King! Other than that, it's a good action/mystery book. Not for kids, though!
