This book contains two short novels, each about half the length of a normal Betty Neels novel. The first An Ordinary Girl isn't really an engagement story. It is a typical Betty Neels romance of a handsome wealthy doctor, a very plain but sweet poor but not destitute young woman, and a very mean girlfriend. It is not a favorite because too much time is spent setting up how horrible the girlfriend is and not enough on the primary relationship, but the hero is a very good guy. The second story A Perfect Proposal by Liz Fielding I do like a lot. The main characters are interesting and well developed and the plot is excellent. Highly recommended.
