A reliable lifetime standby.

My first serious boyfriend’s mother gave me a copy of this one Christmas some 40 years ago. Lost the boyfriend eventually, kept the book. I’ve turned to it any my Betty Crocker from the same era it all my life. 🙃 Classics.

The best starter cookbook I have.

If you only own one cookbook, this is the one to have.

It's a weapon, it's HUGE. Basics to advanced cooking skills are both covered. The recipes are clear, the pictures are plentiful and fantastic. I have given 3 copies of this book as gifts, everyone loves it. It's one of those rare cookbooks that has creative ideas, but not so far out of the box you wonder what they were thinking. Lot's of down home food too....it covers it all from scrambling an egg to making a mousse. I own probably 100 cookbooks and this one is hands down my favorite

I have had this book for over 12 years and still refer to it. My family and I have some favorite recipes from it. I am buying one for my niece now.

Delicious everyday recipes plus beautiful pictures.

A friend loaned me her copy of this book. It's her favorite, and I see why. Lots of recipes for everyday type meals, with glossy color pictures. Recipes for Trout, Lamb, Pork, Pastries...you name it. Well organized and easy to follow.
