Wanted for one pattern

It was really the dog sweater pattern I wanted from this book (although the book was a gift for my daughter). The pattern is great, tells how to measure all types of dogs for fit so it can be used for bitty dog and bigger dogs too. Has a couple of other intriguing looking patterns too. I'm looking forward to seeing what daughter does first!

Beautiful Projects Within Reach

In The Elegant Knitter, Gina Macris takes techniques like felting and yarn-overs and makes them accessible in small projects. I'm not much of a knitter (rectangles a specialty), but the instructions and illustrations in this book made me feel as though I could take on something more complicated. The projects themselves are beautiful. The Spiral Scarf is my favorite, but I also love the Shibori scarf and the lacy scarf (which I am tempted to adapt to make a table runner). There are even projects for a knitter's best friend (the canine variety). While the emphasis on accessories may be unsatisfying for more practiced knitters, it was perfect for me. These are projects I could actually start and finish, without lugging a huge bag of yarn around for years. Overall an inspiring book!

Different ideas for hats, scarfs and gloves

Just received the book, but the patterns are different, and that is a good thing in Knitting books.
