This when published in 1975 was a pioneering set of essays on Jewish Economic History. Nachum Gross ably edited this work which was part of the 'Library of Jewish Knowledge' series. The general survey traces the Jews economic development from the First Temple Period, to Exile and Restoration, to the Second Temple Period, The Talmudic Era, the Muslim Middle Ages, Medieval Christendom, The early modern period a transitional period and then the Modern Period. It has sections on Agriculture, Industry , and Services.
