Just as a little boy named Sam and an old man named Henry remind the town of Easterville, best-selling author Melody Carlson reminds us as well that the true meaning of Easter is not Easter bonnets, baskets, colored eggs, candy, or decorations, but the story of the Cross.
My three year old liked this book a lot. We were trying to find activities that we could do that would lead up to Easter. This is going to become part of our Easter traditions. The illustrations are a little strange but that seems to be the norm now. Other than that the story is good and does point to the reason for Easter.
