Autobiography of a fascinating couple -- Psychological, Personal, Intellectual, Spiritual exploratio

John Cunningham Lilly (1915-2001) is best known for his groundbreaking consciousness work, with applications in psychology, science, spirituality, and mysticism. Lilly began as a psychoanalyst and physician, and later became a philosopher, writer, and "psychonaut". He became famous among certain elite circles, and became a personal therapist/adviser to a number of celebrities and artists, including director George Lucas. Perhaps his most famous study was a communication study with dolphins in which he learned some dolphin-speak, taught them some human vocabulary, and successfully carried out entire conversations with them. This was influential in the science fiction writings of Douglas Adams, author of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Lilly also invented the isolation tank, which has been applied in a variety of scientific fields, and also featured in dozens of science fiction movies, including Star Wars, Incredible Hulk, etc. He coauthored this book with his wife Antonietta, while living in Hawaii during their retirement. It is a self-described autobiography of a couple, which explores practical, relational applications of some of his theories, relying heavily on theories of communication, spiritual practices, and distinct yet connected life paths of him and his wife. There was only one paperback edition & one hardcover edition ever printed, making this a somewhat rare book.
