This is the last of the Palliser novels, in which Lady Glencora's death early in the novel leaves the Duke stricken with grief. He has to turn elsewhere for help with his children as he finds that they are getting deeper into trouble. All is resolved happily in the end.

The Duke's Children is a novel by Anthony Trollope, first published in 1879 as a serial in All the Year Round. It is the sixth and final novel of the Palliser series.
