Dr. Ravi Batra is the best economist I've ever read!

Dr. Ravi Batra promotes an unconventional, but very well researched and logical view of economics, the so-called "dismal science."Batra is way ahead of his time, and his analysis of the American and world economy is much more interesting than the usual economic "experts." True, Batra got some of the dates wrong in his prediction of a Great Depression of 1990 -- but he is right on in his analysis that the Acquisitor Age in America is on its last legs. The American economy seems very good now, especially if you are one of those who has lots of money. But that doesn't mean it will stay that way forever. There are greater economic, social, and metaphysical or spiritual forces at work in the world than merely the power of money, which was supposed to be the servant of mankind, not its master. Money is NOT God, money is not almighty, not even in America. The basic flaw in the acquisitor class mentality is their unquestioned support of capitalism instead of ethics and spirituality. Batra indicates that the so-called "victory" of capitalism over communism may be indeed short-lived and pyrrhic in nature... rather like two men fighting each other on the edge of a cliff. The two antagonists are unaware that they are chained together with a long but invisible rope. One man pushes the other over the cliff and says, "I won," but it's only a matter of time before he is pulled over the cliff as well. It's time to wake up to the possibility, or probability, that there are more powerful forces at work in life than simply greed, and that greed, like crime, does not pay. The Acquisitor Age is about to end, because the higher they climb, the harder they fall; pride goeth before a fall, sooner or later. It's only a matter of time....

The next economic depression is ahead before Year 2000

This book with other following books on economic cycle explanations, history and the alternative solution like PROUT (Progressive Utilisation Theory) provide a great tool for our survival in the next great depression and lead us to the coming golden age - the age of simplicity, truthfulness, solidarity and spiritual orientated communities. His books cover fantastic economic briefing, but also provide the possible solution of what common people can do before the sudden blow of economic strike. I recommend this book to everyone else. You'll never regret before something wrong starts happen.

Prescient, largely undiscovered...

The author, Ravi Batra, largely viewed by the establishment as an iconoclast, protectionist, and devotee of the Indian mystic/philosopher Sarker, courageously attempts to synthesize Marxist, Proutist, and Western economists' views within a historic and sociological context. Batra's provocative analysis concludes (in 1979) that both the command economies of the Soviet bloc and the unregulated Western capitalist economies will collapse leading to a more humane and socially just economic system, in the West at least, brought about by a social system predicated on the values of the "warrior" class who rises out of the rubble of the failed "acquisitor" class system of social organization. An open mind is required to begin this treatise. Once the reader grasps the logic of the author's premise, I predict that the reader's sympathies will be sufficiently aroused. Allow a couple of weekends to visit your local library to reference the citations contained therein.
