The recipes are both understandable and fabulous. I have the 1975 printing of this volume, which has been revised since (you can take any of my cookbooks as long as you leave me my Doubleday!). The new revised version is just my old friend with a facelift and a healthy attitude. Go ahead and get it if you don't have an older version--you NEED this cookbook!
