I bought this book for a 2 year old dog lover, who now LOVES this book--it has been read at least 2x daily since it arrived. As described, it is an alphabet book, with a picture of a dog demonstrating the word used on the page. The pictures are great, with very expressive and adorable dogs (most, if not all, are puppies) and the book includes an index of the dog breeds shown. I bought this at the bargain price of $4.99, and it is a nice, large hardcover book and very well worth the money.
The Perfect Alphabet Book for Dog Lovers

My 18 month old has loved this book since we received it as a gift when he was aroud 8 months or so. It is perfect for him, because he is obsessed with dogs and the book has few words, so we can read through quickly or go slower and spend more time looking at the pictures. In this book each letter of the alphabet has a dog-related word that corresponds to a photo of a dog. Our favorite is J which is "Jump". We always jump at that page. We also like D for "Down", because that is a command we give our dog quite often. Each photo is of a different breed, so they get to look at all sorts of dogs. If your child is an animal/dog lover and often likes to read through books at a relatively fast pace, this book is perfect for you.

The Dog from Arf to Zzzz is a simple alphabet concept book. Each page features a capitol letter and a sweet picture of a dog doing something that starts with the letter. For example we have the letter E and a picture of the dog eating and the word eat on the page. This book features lots of breeds of dogs. Family members of all ages will enjoy sharing their favorites with each other. Dog lovers of all ages will enjoy this book. The full color photos are very charming. This is a fun way to get young children to learn the letters of the alphabet.
DELIGHTFUL AND BENEFICIAL

There is nothing cuter than a furry animal - in this case, dogs. These adorable mutts with their exaggerated angles accompany the letters of the alphabet. A lab comes with the letter C, a terrier is down with the letter D, a furry black and white Vroom's to the letter V, and a hot dog shows his tail for the letter T. The Dog from Arf! Arf! to Zzzzzz is delightful and beneficial. Using dogs and positioning them to represent the letters of the alphabet is a terrific idea. Seeing actions that represent the word of the letter is fun, and it helps kids retain the alphabet, as well as improve their memory skills. If owning the real thing (a pup) is not possible, this is next best thing for your little one.
Wag the dog

Dog lovers will love this alphabet book. Each page has a close up of some breed of puppy and a dog related word. For example, F shows a beagle pup with a stick in his mouth and the word "Fetch!" and W has a Cavalier King Charles spaniel showing off his tail and the words "Wag, wag, wag". The puppies are all beautifully photographed with a white background and many are shown from interesting or funny angles. At the end of the book is a page that tells what breed of dog is shown with each letter. Karen Woodworth-Roman, Librarian
