Not the actual book

I thought I was purchasing the book but I received a 32 page teacher guide of the book with discussion questions and activities.

Great book!

It's a great read.

Terrible Condition

This was marked as "good" and the cover had pieces missing, had large creases all over the cover and so many damaged pages, it is uncountable... This is nowhere near "good" condition.

This is a must read!

This is a must read book for people of all ages.

Boring

Many people love and cherish The Diary Of Anne Frank and it is easy to see why. Not many diaries survived from World War Two, especially when its owner didn't. This also is written from the perspective as it's happening, and is nonfiction, so it's not just some history book. And yet I find it boring in many ways. For one, Anne Frank is simply just not a very interesting person. I know that's because she was trapped in a hidden apartment, but it gets a bit dull around the seventh time that the highlight of her day was getting a bag of flour. That must of been hard for her, I know, and I feel bad for her, but feeling bad doesn't change the actual writing of something. For another thing, as she got older, Anne Frank became a bit silly. She would go on one day about how she was feeling so depressed that she wished she would die, and the next day she was on top of the world because the sun came out. I guess that's what being trapped inside for five years does to you. But really, this whole review comes down to this: Anne Frank wasn't a good writer. She wasn't talented of gifted in any particular way, and she would either just tell you a big secret right at the beginning with no suspense, or just annoy you by saying, "but it is getting late now, so I will tell you the rest in the morning, Kitty", which took away any suspense at all. I struggled to finish this and can tell you I will certainly never attempt read it again, or recommend it to somebody. I will only consider this as an important book in history. I can certainly say I am thankful that I got this book from the library, because buying it would've been a big waste of $7.99.

Incredible Young Teen!

I could not help but contemplate the tragic state of America's school system as I read 'The Diary of a Young Girl: Anne Frank." Today's COLLEGE 'educated' men and women can barely spell, never mind articulate what thoughts are running through their grossly immature minds! In Anne Frank we have a young FIFTEEN-YEAR OLD young woman who is wise well beyond her years, superbly skilled with words - and who weaves narratives of her life while in hiding from the Nazis in astonishingly mature manner! What a stark contrast with today's college educated Space Cadets!

Fabricated Tale

Completely made-up tale, not a lick of truth.

Anne Frank, where are you?

I was excited to get this book as a replacement one of mine, I reluctantly gave to my sister in law a couple of years back for her birthday (long story short, baby brother felt I needed to give her something for her birthday), so this was going to be my replacement book I never got to read after I bought mine, and of course right after I bought it was her birthday. Anyways it is a novel by Jack Welch called Jack Straight From The Gut I received not Anne Frank’s diary. So a pretty bug bust..

Forever a Must Read for Youth

I read this book when I was in 6th grade (1986). It really left a mark. I didn't know what World War II was I just read it and learned. I'm pretty sure it was a school book fair. I recently purchased this book for my son. We homeschool and will cover this topic when he is in 6-7th grade.

The text is too small to read.

The text is too small to read.

If you ever need a reminder of the beauty of a child's perspective ...

Every time I read this, the reality of it is somewhat lost on me. The true, visceral, real horror of living that situation is simply not one I will ever know, but through Anne's eyes I learn so much about the value of life, of love, of resilience and hope and perseverance. Please read this at some point in your life, if only so you can spend the rest of it knowing just how precious life is.

What an amazing young girl she was. She wanted to go to Hollywood and become famous and thought she never would, but this book made her famous, I just hope she knows that people every where in the world knows who she is. I know when I finished reading this book, I thought if she were a live today, I'd want to meet her and tell her how her story touched me and how sorry I was for what her family and friends had to go through. This is an absolute must read!!

I have been purchasing this book for young teens for years. They should write about this wonderful young girl who gave us a eye view of her life before her passing. Bit by bit, Anne wrote about her new family in bondage as well as her own. I am giving this book to a smart but very kind girl in my old church. This book should be the one to read when you have trying times.

An important read. Bare humanity on every page.

I personally believe that everyone with working eyeballs should read this book. Her perspective provides an intimate glimpse into what war is like when your humanity is questioned. I'll be honest, there are some parts that drag but what do you expect, considering the limited square footage at Anne's disposal? Don't get me wrong: You will be enthralled in this young girl's account but you don't necessarily read Anne Frank to be entertained. You read Anne Frank because it teaches us the cost of hatred.

this book was in good condition and was very good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love this book it was very good. As I read this book, I felt like i was there with anne frank. All that she lived through makes me greatful that I didnt live in the World War 2 times. Read the book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Diary of Anne Frank: The Critical Edition is the best!

I love this book, because it make me understand that all three versions of the diary that know Anne wrote her original diaries, two notebooks and 324 loose sheet while she was hiding.Anne did write alot about her friends, sexual feeelings, and fighting between her and her mother. The second one is missing,so she did finish the rewrite on loose sheet which is version B that the dated from December 7, 1942 to December 22, 1943. The last page of the rewrite on loose sheet on March 29,1994 about listening the radio broadcasting the Duth Exile from london that collected the daries and letters that people want to read then after the war. Anne did all the rewrite, but she never finished sadly, on August 4, 1944 the day of the arrest the nazi interupted her. She is a great writer of all times. I'm very obessed Anne Frank, because she is so smart!.Anyone want to about Anne's life was Melissa Muller's Biography "Anne Frank" This is a great book!
