A haunting, beautiful book

I read this book when I was a child; over the years I forgot the title and the author but the story stayed with me. I'm glad I found it again. It is a suspenseful and exciting young adult novel about witchcraft and time travel, rendered more vivid by historical detail and characters whose choices leave the reader haunted and wondering at choices made and paths not taken. Note: Some of the 1970s-era British slang used by the characters will be unfamiliar to contemporary American kids, some of whom may find it frustrating. The book also alludes to adult sexuality but in a non-graphic, understated and tasteful way.

I first read this book when I was 12 and thought it was fantastic, I am now 32 and still think it is fantastic, this is a superb read, don't hesitate if you get the chance give it a go.

This is a very good book!

This book, Devil on the Road, is about a young man who owns only a motorbike, he ends up staying in a very odd town where some very odd things are happening. He ends up physically flashing back in time. This book will keep you as it did me, glued to your seat unable to put down the book. Its incredibly good as are all of Robert Westalls books and a recommend this as one of his best. At least give it a try and find out for yourself!
