A Must-read for Music Educators and Researchers

Hargreaves work summarizes a relatively new field: developmental psychology as applied to the learning and development of music. It is a must-read for music educators, music teachers, and anyone who is interested in how musical abilities develop over the lifespan and how we can help individuals develop their musical abilities to their fullest.Although the book is theoretical in that it discusses theories of musical learning and development and scientific research that sheds light on the various aspects of musical development, it takes little imagination to apply the book's insights to create practical teaching ideas in the classroom or music studio.
