Bestselling author Audrey Wood and artist son Bruce create a cumulative concept book about colors, with more of the vivid imagery that has made their alphabet books so successful! Readers will love... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Another book I constantly read to my my 2-3 year old students, complete with a felt board. The kids like joining in on the refrain ( " in the middle of the deep.... blue ... sea! " ), and it's simple enough to sign along for our hard-of-hearing students ( we use 'purple bird' for the purple parrot =D ). This age group really love books where they can 'read' along, and this fits the bill perfectly. Bright, clear pictures, with lots of little details to entertain older kids ( i.e. you can see the butterfly hiding in the tree earlier in the book ). This also makes a great long-term art project -- make a big blue sea one day ( we used butcher paper and let the kids go wild with blue crayons, markers, chalk, paint, glitter... everything! ) , a red rock the next day, etc.
Vivid colors, simple but engaging story

The illustrations on each page give a hint as to what will be featured on the next page which helps this book be a good "what happens next" book since the memory clues are visible. Simple story but engaging. The emphasis of the story is about colors and illustrations match this emphasis. Though it is simple son really found it interesting.

Great book for children. Repetition & bright pictures. This is my 28 month olds absolutely favorite book.
My son loves the deep blue sea

My young son is a tough critic when it comes to books. He's pretty discerning. This wonderful little book thrilled him. He comes running with it and loves reading it. Its below his reading level but he still loves it. The colors are amazing as is the progression of the simple story. I'd highly recommend it!
A hit with our 1 year old!

This book is fun to read; it is rhythmic and the story builds page by page. It's different than most children's books: big, simple, crisp and bright (computer generated?). My son gives a little giggle when we pull it out.
