I love her books and this book does not fail. I thought it was very cute and I am looking forward to her next novel.
Listen to the audio book

I find if I listen to an author I really like that I'm disappointed in the audio, but the way this book was read on the audio had me laughing out loud and often. It was hilarious. Definitely not "deep" but I was entertained for sure. Thrilled that I got my 12 bucks worth for the download. Now, I'm not sure if I would have liked it on paper as I picked up the other one of her books at the library today and decided I'd get the other one on audio, too.
Deliciously Fun - Much Better than expected!

I had really enjoyed Bergdorf Blondes but hesitated to read Debutante Divorces because of the horrendous reviews given by many people who totally trashed this noble. I finally read it and and argue that such terrible reviews were unfair. It was absolutely delicious and I couldn't put it down. It seems like people who gave terrible reviews have personal hatred of Plum Sykes. She might not be a likable person but this is actually a good story/satire and a lot of fun. I've read a lot of other chick-lits with much better reviews which were boring, predictable, and uninspiring. This one is better. When people picked up this book and gave such horrible reviews saying it was superficial, what did they expect? A profound message and deep meaning of life? I work in a dry IT environment, and this noble gave me an escape to a world that is totally different from where I am, and I like that light and silly fun and glimpse into high society. I love fashion and entertainment gossip, and I don't apologize for enjoing them.
Enjoyable

Another reviewer said it best. This is a SATIRE people. Don't take it so seriously. Sykes offers a glimpse into a segment of society few of us see. I love her descriptions of fashion and jewelry - everything sounds so delicious. I lover her writing style and hope she writes another. Its actually fascinating to think there are really people out there like that.
Fun and Entertaining!

I personally thought the novel was a great, fun, summer read. It is the perfect thing to take your mind off of life's stresses, and just relax. I also loved Bergdorf Blondes, and think that this was a great second novel. If you are looking for something "deep" this isn't it, but if you just want a good beach book then I highly recommend this one.
