Loving shower gift for adoptive parents

This is my favorite book about adoption. I found myself in tears when I finished the book. The text is simple but speaks directly to the heart. The parents narrate all the concrete steps they took the day they receive the call to pick up their new baby. The crayon illustrations convey a beautiful sense of warmth and love. Less is more

This is a beautiful, simple, and sweet story, very well told and illustrated. I agree with a previous writer that the great adoption book is yet to be written, but as sheer poetry and as an upbeat, positive message, this is one of the best books out there.

The Day We Met You

This book closely mirrored our own adoption experience. Family and friends were a big part and the book includes it in a very simple and friendly way. I love it and my daughter loves it.

This is story is simple and beautifully written. It is a wonderful way to introduce the concept of adoption to the very youngest adoptees.

A great springboard for discussion

After hearing this story (which is told in the voices of the adoptive parents), our 3 year old daughter asked (again!) to hear her own adoption story. Sharing stories about the different ways children join families is a great way to begin a lifelong discussion with your child about adoption.
