Estella Hadley Groover … I was born October 14, 1921 in Grady County, GA, in a community called Duncansville, GA. My grandfather, Richard Hadley, Sr., a mulatto, bought this property after he was freed from slavery in 1865. I am 88 years old and the oldest of the late Dennis and Rosetta James Hadley's 15 children. I grew up on Pebble Hill Plantation. I graduated from Douglass High School in 1940. I worked at Archbold Hospital for several years where I met and married my late husband Henry Groover. I did domestic work and sewing as a profession for 70 years. I have been an eight year resident of Golden Living Nursing Home Center in Thomasville, Georgia due to an illness that left me completely deaf and unable to walk. Stories in this book are my years of "living and still counting," that I typed on my laptop given by my former employer, Dr. & Mrs. Louis Moore. I share with you the beautiful life, a loving husband, supportable family and friends that have been a part of my blessed life.Estella Hadley Groover … I was born October 14, 1921 in Grady County, GA, in a community called Duncansville, GA.
