In Colorado, journalist Kari Churchill arrives late for her helicopter trip into exploring Elk Creek Canyon where her famous author father died. The owner-pilot Nick D'Angelo refuses to take her until the morning. After he leaves, she persuades his sister Adriana to take her. However, a storm disables the aircraft and only because of the terrific efforts of Adriana do the pair survive. Nick blames himself for not assuring his sister did not do something foolish and even somewhat blames his "customer".At the hospital, Adriana's father Sam tells Kari she can help by working at the lodge, which will be shorthanded. Sam decides Kari is perfect for his son who raises a teen by himself. As Sam, his wife, Adriana, and Tessa play matchmaker, Kari and Nick fall in love. However, he does not want a spouse though Kari is very good with Tessa and she does not believe in marriage due to her parent's distant relationship. This is a stirring contemporary romance starring two enemy combatants in this case hiding their attraction. Outflanked by the D'Angelo matchmaking brood they fall in love. The cast makes the tale as each prime player including Nick's family members come across with unique personalities. Though the lead couple runs from commitment having bad experiences, they do not stand a chance when everyone else knows they belong together. Throw in a lot of teen angst that only Kari can empathize and readers have a fine family drama.
