Not my style of read

Robert Greene is one of those people you either love or hate. The ratings section of any of his books will show anyone that. I've been a fan of Robert Greene's writing since 48 Laws of Power. Yet, I have not had the time to read some of his other works. So imagine my surprise when I saw this. A book of daily meditations that borrows from his writings. I took it upon myself to read each chapter a day in 2023 and write in a journal meditating on each bit of wisdom. As a disclaimer, I don't often read these "once a day reflections" style books often. The chapters are short, months are organized into topics, and each quarter into a larger theme. Most entries are a page, sometimes two. The Daily Laws has plenty of good tidbits and insights. Yet, I felt that the entries were a bit too short for my understanding. If I read more of his work, then I could use it as a refresher. Sometimes his insights seem to repeat or contradict themselves. I understand the importance of reiteration for emphasis. Yet, it could have been more beneficial to draw from a broader range of ideas more deeply. Perhaps I would have enjoyed this more if I read more of Robert Greene's works. Not to mention the sense of displeasure whenever I missed a day because of life's obligations. For now, a sense of relief finishing this. 2.5/5. Rounded to 3/5. The entries were too short for my tastes. Maybe I also dislike this genre of once-a-day type books.
