For nearly two millennia the Nephilim wielded their will on the inhabitants of Nagala Sortis, which means "the lands of the north." They harshly ruled over the land's inhabitants until a strange stone fell from out of the sky, a stone they called "The Rock of Mantalanos." Wielding its supernatural power, the inhabitants of Nagala Sortis overthrew the Nephilim and banished them to the desolate lands of the south, and for six hundred years peace reigned. Now with the resurgence of an ancient and evil prophecy, the Nephilim are once again seeking to regain the lands they lost. But a Watcher, named Leopold the dreamer, has received foreknowledge by dreams concerning the coming offensive. Charged with thwarting the plans of the Nephilim and their allies, the Ogres, the Dark Elves, and the men of Sargonis. Leopold gathers a diverse group from Crynophia to oppose the invasion. In his dreams, he is also instructed to bring two seventeen-year-old Elfumans: a boy named Tamall Stonehead, and a girl named Limlee Thimblewood. These Elfumans come from a race with a mixed heritage of Northern Elves and humans. Together, they and their friends must stand against the evil onslaught that threatens their homeland.
