Great for Truck Fans

My 3-year-old son wants me to read "da tuck book" over and over. My 4-year-old girl can now identify all kinds of vehicles. It's one of our favorites!

This book is not scary!

I was stunned to see that "The Reader from Missouri" found the pictures scary. The scariest thing that happens in these pictures is an exasperated school bus driver ends up with a banana peel on his head. I have shared this book with many, many kids and not one has been the least bit put off.This is an excellent, clever, fun book.

My truck fanatic's favorite!

My three year old son loves this book! He loves the pictures (not too scary at all) and the funny, silly poems. I like the fact that the drawings show women and people of color driving and enjoying trucks, in addition to white men.

Zany, cartoon humor

My three-year-old son gives this book high marks! I giggle along with him as he finishes his favorite story-poems before I can read the endings. The cartoony illustrations are done in an edgy style, but I wouldn't describe them--or the rhyming stories--as scary. (However, if your child prefers Barney to Rugrats, he or she may not appreciate this book's zany cartoon humor.) I'm planning on giving this book as a gift to another three-year-old...along with a big toy dump truck!

My 4 year old nephew loves it!

My 4 year-old nephew loves this book. I read the first two phrases and he gleefully finishes it by reciting the second two. Cleverly written and fun to read!
