Book Overview

This cowgirl has wandered back home...

Will she choose her past or her future?

Needing time to heal after a rodeo injury, Kate Rainbolt heads to her family ranch to accept the foreman job her brothers offered her months ago. But the position's already been filled by her ex-boyfriend, Jess McNally, and the only open job reports to him. Kate's story was worth waiting for

"Wooing takes a whole lot more energy than dating. It's about gaining someone's trust and confidence. Wooing is all about the long haul. It's like preparing the soil and planting, and being willing to wait for what's going to grow because you know it's going to be something special." Ah, Kate Rainbolt. I've waited a long time for her story and it was totally worth waiting for. She's spunky, feisty, and stubborn yet totally devoted to her family and compassionate. Her physical brokenness after a rodeo accident and her chronic emotional brokenness from her father's abandonment and perceived rejection are tangible, heart-breaking and real. Jess has his own past rejections to wade through and things to prove to himself and others. Their banter is delightful and the way they ease back into their friendship/relationship is a lot of fun. I loved going back to Rebel, Oklahoma to catch up with Kate's older brothers Mitch, Reece, and Tucker as well as meet some new but equally unforgettable characters in Jess' family. I'll miss Rebel Ranch and am so glad I was there to watch all four Rainbolt siblings find new dreams and contentment after all the tears and fears of their past. I received the book from the publisher/author and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.
