A Thoroughly Enjoyable Read

Because I could talk your ear off about how much I love this story, with a great effort, I am limiting myself only to four things. The most important ones. 1. Trevor - the youngest of the Morgan brothers, ranch manager, 35, 6+ feet, blue eyes; also a widower with an AA chip in his pocket. 2. Hope - single NP, her appearance at the ranch is deliberate, and she has an agenda that has everything to do with her late sister's preteen son Cole. 3. Faith - the down-to-earth, practical, living/breathing/sustaining kind. Throughout the story, both characters' prayers and faith statements show up in the right places where I expected them most. Loved this! 4. Family - this is the big one. The love, care, protectiveness, acceptance, humor, truth, perseverance, and faith among the members of the immediate and extended Morgan clan is so heartwarming. Hope dreams belonging to a family like the Morgans, and I would not mind marrying my daughter off into a family like theirs. So uplifting! I read my share of Love Inspired books every year and have liked and loved a lot of them. The Lazy M Ranch series, and The Cowboy's Secret Past in particular, however, have redefined for me what falling in love with a story feels like. It is very well balanced (humor-heartache, faith-doubt, secrets-honesty, etc.) and well paced. Adults act like adults and children like children (Cole). The side characters come across as multifaceted rather than one-dimensional and become total darlings of the story (Gramps, Bess). I received a free copy from the author. It was such a joy to read it and to give my opinion about it. Forgot to add: the story overflows with great ideas for cookie baking and savory dishes. ❤️
