Great Resource Tool for Teachers of Preschoolers!!

I just Love this book. If you work with young children this book is a "must have" resource book. It has a great format. It breaks down each day and lets you know what you need for each day. Exp: If your theme is "Summer Time Fun," day one is "Kites and Frisbees" day two is "Bubbles" day 3 is "Games", etc,. It goes over ideas for what to do in each center. I am also going back to school for my Early Childhood Degree and this book has also help me with ideas for several of my projects. I recommend this book to any teacher of preschool children (hey it's even great for stay at home moms!)
If you choose only one, this is it!

I recently bought this book as well as two other "giant collections" of preschool activities, and this one is the best! I love it! It gives you a theme, and then suggests topics to cover in circle time, a story to read, and a musical/dance selection. The second half of the page contains six activity stations dealing with some of the following: art, language, discovery, math, gross motor, science, cooking, dramatic play, construction, fine motor. For example, the topic "Stars Above" includes the following activity stations: art (starry night paintings), fine motor (make playdough stars), fine motor (use tweezers to move small stars), math (star sponge pattern painting), construction (make star mobile), discovery (rolling of circles and stars - which rolls?). I think it's great and I don't even want to use my other books anymore! It's all done for you. I highly recommend it.

This book provides an early childhood teacher with wonderful curriculum ideas that can be implemented into every classroom instantly. I particulary loved the wonderful ways to expand the block and dramatic play center to include the theme.
Title says it all.

I own several early childhood theme resources but this is the best I've seen, by far. If I had to choose only one resource, this would be it. The layout includes "Unit at a glance" followed by detailed daily activities. If you have to write daily lesson plans for pre-schoolers, this book has already done it all for you. Provides 50 weeks of instructional material in theme-based units.
