This Book Makes Learning German Fun and Easy

If you want to become fluent, the best way to learn is to sign up for a class at your local community college. But if you want to get a fun and easy sampling before your trip to Germany, either for business or pleasure, this is the book to buy.

Great for the beginner or for those travelling to Germany

The book is an excellent beginners guide or for those traveling to Germany. I especially appreciated the way the book was organized and the small 'tests' given in each chapter. Also, having the answers to the tests in the appendix was very helpful. Overall, the book does what it says it will do.

Excellent book for beginners

For an unexplainable reason, I am extremely fond of the German nation, culture, and language, and set out to learn German. This was the first German book I bought, and I must say that it is one of the best books for someone who knows nothing about German to begin with. This book makes a good effort to teach correct pronounciation, but in reality an audio tape would also be good to ensure a closer proximinty to native speaker level. I recommend this book to all who wish to begin to learn German. Tsüß!

This book makes German fun!

German is a tough language to learn and I'm pleased to say that Alice Muller and Stephan Muller have made a daunting experience fun. This book is for the person who wants a basic entry into this difficult language. It's a great supplement to a basic German class and a fun, encouraging place to start. Advanced students will move on with confidence and good spirits to more complex German instructional books.

Fun and easy to understand...

Several months ago I set out to teach myself German. I shopped around first, going to book stores to compare materials before spending my money. Of all the books I examined, this one was my favorite. It is especially useful when used in conjuction with a book & tape course such as "Mastering German". This book takes something that looks difficult, and makes it fun and easy to understand. It plainly explains pronunciation, noun cases, noun gender, conversation needed in various social situations, and much more. Es ist fantastisch! (It is fantastic!)
