The Complete Book of Tackle Making

This book is a definite find! Very informative and reasonably priced. Having read and rated other books in this genre as "poor", this book is the exception to the "be-all" and "end-all" generalist book. If you are looking for practical and useful information on the topic of making your own tackle, look no further. Clearly, it is a relief to find an author who doesn't get bogged down in anecdotal story telling about truly boring fish "war stories."

Tackle Making With C. Boyd Pfeiffer

I had no idea how much useful fishing equipment could be constructed until I read this book. If I taught a class on tackle making, this would be the course text. It would have been nice if there had been an illustration on how to use a wire-bender for making large pike spinners, but this is a very minor point. He covers everything from lure making to rod and net building. The book is very clearly written and illustrated. Almost everything related to each project is addressed. I recommend this book to fly fishers who feel disconnected when fishing with hardware. Making my own plugs, spoons, and spinners adds a greater degree of self-expression to spin fishing.

Excellent How To Do It Yourself Guide

I have used the techniques in this book for years for building and repairing all types of fishing equipment. If you are a serious fisherperson and like to tinker, this book is for you! It can save you lots of money as well as provide you the satifaction of knowing how to build or repair gear yourself.

Complete and concise. Thoroughly researched. Full list of suppliers and an excellent resource for anyone to have, be they beginner or seasoned veteran.

This is One Good Book!

I have read AD Livingston's book and, although he is a good author, longed for something else. I ordered this one before it was released (on blind faith), and when I got it, I could not believe all the information covered! It is excellent!This book not only covers the making of lures and artificial baits, which is what I was looking for, but it also goes into rod building and net building, mold making and all terminal tackle I can think of.I highly recommend this book!
