Book - The Compleat Flea

Our office needed 15 of the same books; therefore, we had 14 different vendors. All but one vendor were satisfactory. Woody's Books did send a book, but under a different vendor name (cornerstonebooksplattsburgh out of NY). We were unable to verify receipt from Woody's Books; therefore, they refunded our credit card. After they informed us of the different vendor name (we did receive that book), they needed repayment but would not accept the credit card. As a Federal Government agency, we cannot use PayPal. We can issue a check, but we needed a Tax ID # or Social Security #. They would not provide either one of those; therefore, we were not able to make repayment. We did return the book, but not to NY where it originally came from. It was shipped back to Martinez, CA. We question whether Woody's Books is a reputable company.

It is typical to find books such as Complete Flea for other animals such as cats, dogs, etc...but a parasite is an unusual compilation.The book is illustrated with some nice detailed sketches of the flea from the advent of microscopy, as well as works from various artists.The Complete Flea says nothing of the incredible biology of the flea, its ecology, or habits. Rather it focuses purely on its impression on human culture, which has usually been non-disease related. For those that have a soft spot in their heart for these little wingless flies...Complete Flea will offer much intellectual fodder for conversation.
