Post-cataclysmic tales of tragedy

As far as anthologies go, this book is excellent. Much better than the other multiple-author collections set in the world of Dominaria. These stories are written by top notch authors, many of whom you'll be familiar with from other Wizards of the Coast publications. Unlike the previous anthology, Rath and Storm, the stories here are not interconnected to make a larger story. Each story is completely independent, telling a short and simple (but nonetheless good) tale of individuals living in Dominaria. The only character in the book with any ties to the other MTG novels is Feldon (from The Brothers' War). Unlike a few of the other reviewers, I didn't think any one particular story stood out as being particularly wonderful or horrible. They were all enjoyable. Each of the stories takes place on Dominaria either immediately after, or during, the last stages of the Brothers' War. These are mostly tales of people coping with life after the devastation of the final conflict between Urza and Mishra. Changing climate, politics, and landscapes provide a great setting for these stories. For the most part, they tend toward the tragic, with often predictable outcomes leaving characters with more than they bargained for. Read these stories to get a feel for the impact of the Brothers' War on common people's lives. Recommended for fans of MTG only.

This book rocks!

This book was amazing! Every story was great! Some were very ironic and full of satire. Others were sad and even others were full of action. This book helps to explain what the colors of magic are all about. Awesome job authors!

Magic: The Gathering --- Colors of Magic

This is an awesome book if you enjoy reading Magic: The Gathering. This book is composed of a number of short stories seperated into different color sections. Each section has 1-3 enchanting tales that relate to that M:TG color. All in all, it is a great book for M:TG readers.

A great anthology of Magic-related stories

The Colors of Magic Anthology is a great group of stories from many different authors, including Jeff Grubb (who wrote The Brother's War). There is at least one story for each color, minus artifacts, and up to three for some colors. This book showcases better authoring talent than Rath and Storm did. The stories range in mood from serious to light-hearted, although the mood doesn't actually match the color. Overall, from the stories in the book, any reader, a Magic player or not, should find at least two or three stories they enjoy. Personally, I enjoyed them all.

a compelling antholigy of the magic the gathering universe

the colors of magic was a dazzling antholigy! i espesialy liked how the stories were grouped in the "magic color system" i couldn't put this book down. the only problem with the book is that it may be a bit confusing for those who haven't read the brothers war by jeff grub( which was an other great book) which is why i only gave this book four stars. on the whole it was an enjoyable trek into the magic the gathering fantasy world.
