This is a wonderfully illustrated and very informative book on over 2,000 types of minerals with approximately 1000 color photographs. Information includes composition, crystal formation, color, streak, luster, physical properties, distinguishing characteristics, methods of identification, environment, geographical occurence, and variety. The material covered is very inclusive and well suited for the advanced collector yet very understandable by the novice. Great gift!
