Holiday tradition

This is a lovely book to read around the tree on Christmas Eve. It brings the story of the Nativity to children in a way that really draws them in.

Sallie Ketcham writes a delighful story of how the robin's red breast came to be. Setting the story during the birth of Jesus, the bird helps a cold baby by fanning the fire with his wings, and singeing himself in the process. As a thank you for keeping her baby warm, Mary gives the robin a wonderful gift.Stacey Schuett's illustrations work beautifully with the story.
