Some might say this review will be a little biased considering my Dad wrote the book, but thats ok. If you want to learn to be a better chess player,I think you'll find his approach both interesting and different. He uses positions from actual games to work out problems and explain why certain moves are made, giving you a kind of hands on experience that makes the learning fun and informative. My Dad is somewhat of a game fanatic, or I should say "old school" game fanatic where you sat across from a real person or people and watched them squirm if you made a good play or smile if you didn't. He has worked on Bridge programs, and worked with Bobby Fisher back in the 1960's collaborating on a book some of you might know called "Bobby Fisher Teaches Chess". The most amazing thing I've seen my Dad do regarding the game of chess is when he played 10 different people blindfolded and won each game. I also used to go with him to exhibitions where he would play 50 to 100 people at a time, and rarely did he lose. I think i beat him once as a kid, but of course , that's after he took his queen off the board. Enjoy this book, it's a good one, and it will help your game.
