US Marshal Madison James may not be sure who shot her three months ago, but she does know one thing--it's time to get back out into the field. When her partner, Jonas Quinn, receives a message that a federal warrant just came in on a man connected to a string of bank robberies, Madison jumps at the chance to get back to work. What she and Jonas find is a bank robbery in progress that's gone wrong--and things are about to get worse.
For these bank robbers, it's never been just about the money. It's about taking risks and adrenaline rushes, and getting caught is not part of the game. When the suspects escape, Madison and Jonas must hunt them down and bring them to justice before someone else--someone close to them--gets hurt . . . or worse.
From Seattle to the San Juan Islands, bestselling author Lisa Harris takes you on a nonstop chase where feelings are complicated and failure isn't an option.
If I want to read an edge-of-the-seat thriller, Lisa Harris is one author I can read and know that I'll be captivated from the first page till the last. The Chase is just that, another thrilling story that I pretty much read in one sitting. Second in the US Marshals series, readers again are caught up in a police story with US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn. Although this is a second book with these two main characters, one can easily read The Chase as a stand-alone. The author fills in enough of the back story that readers won't have questions about the past. The story is full of non-stop action as the Marshalls are on the hunt for serial bank robbers. With incredibly tense moments and a bit of romance, the author has written a story that keeps the pages turning. The characters are realistic and exhibit emotions and actions to which readers can easily relate. With some seemingly unfinished business at the end of the book, waiting till next year for the next book in the series seems like a long wait. Readers who love romantic suspense stories will not want to miss this one.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
Great Suspense

The Chase by Lisa Harris is the second book in her US Marshals series. U.S. Marshal Madison James is ready to get back out in the field after having been shot three months ago. Her partner, Jonas Quinn, wants her to ease back into work. When they respond to a bank robbery, things begin to escalate. Now they’re on the hunt for the fugitives who seem to be always one step ahead. The chase takes you from Seattle to the San Juan Islands. I enjoyed the way Madison and Jonas worked together; always on the same page. The romance was there, but in the background and not overwhelming the suspense of the story. Another great book from Ms. Harris
I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.
Action-packed and Entertaining

The Chase by Lisa Harris is the second book in the US Marshals series. It picks up three months later from where the first book, The Escape, ended. This time Madison James and Jonas Quinn are chasing bank robbers who also happen to be thrill-seekers. It’s a bad combination. There’s action and suspense in this installment, and a great deal more character development. I wasn’t invested in the characters at the end of the first book, but they definitely grew on me as they worked together to solve the crime in The Chase. There’s just a hint of romance in this series, so if you’re not a big romance lover, but you love action, then this should suit you well. The main crime is resolved; however, there is the overarching crime that still needs resolution. But, we are given just a glimpse as to why Madison’s husband was killed five years ago. The Chase has a nice faith element in it, and is a clean, entertaining read.
