This region, which included furnaces extending from Logan, Ohio in the north to several miles south of Louisa, Kentucky, encompassed various counties. In Kentucky, these counties were Boyd, Carter, Greenup, and Lawrence, while in Ohio they were Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Lawrence, Scioto, and Vinton.
