This is a charming book and a good read for not just young adults, but for all ages. The writer sets the mood of mystery and suspense and gives a wonderful picture of New Orleans during two different eras. The voodoo queen, Marie Leveau, is a fascinating character in the book. The sights, sounds and smells of old New Orleans seem very real to the reader.
