Errors? Who doesn't. Content - Excellent

I read 14,000 pages in 9 months to get CCIE certified, this book included. ALL books have MULTIPLE errors in them, the only way you counter that is by reading MORE than ONE book on the subject. That said, I think you guys are mean or haven't read enough books. This tome is an AWESOME, in-depth look at the topics it covers, and when you read a lot of other books, they seriously fail to deliver the GRANULARITY that this book does which makes it a MUST HAVE. I only wish the author would continue to UPDATE and IMPROVE this book which would not only deliver it from it's obvious flaws, but would keep it in pace with the latest technologies. This book is old, but it without a doubt a true milestone on the landscape of CCIE literature.

Excellent Sleeping Aid!

Picked up a pile of CCIE/CCNA related materials at the bookstore to find a good one. Read parts of each one (really liked the Sybex CCNA book and Cisco IP Routing Reference (not by cisco)), and got to this tome. Boy I was excited. All this info in one place. Better examine it in depth...They came and woke me up, telling me I was snoring. This was at Barnes and Noble, Denver. How embarassing. I had only made it 2 1/2 pages...This book would make an excellent cure for insomnia. I would not purchase it for any other purpose.

Helps you to achieve an in depth understanding of networking

Just wanted to let everyone know that I was fortunate enough to take my first Cisco Class under the instruction of Mr. Giles ( This guy is sharp!! ). I also received one of the 1st copies of his book. Since I've been studying the material, it has helped me to gain an in depth understanding of internetworking. After reading and comprehending the frame relay section, ( beginning of chap 15) I was able to design and implement my first frame relay 4 location intranet. So whether you are studying for the drake exam or needing the information for world world usage like I am, get the book. It's great...

Terrific Book!

This book in wonderful, it covers just about everything you could ever want to know about internetworking. A wonderful guide to becoming CCIE certified, this book is a long time overdue. The questions and answers at the end of each chapter are great, a wonderful measuring stick to go by.
