Great point by point Catechism

This book is a great point-by-point Catechism for those just beginning to learn about Christianity and Catholicism. While it starts a little simplistically for someone already familiar with the Church's teachings, it does give excellent explanations for those new to the faith. This would be a great gift for a child preparing for their first communion; along with the Catechism of the Catholic Church (which this book is an explanation of) it might even serve well for teenagers in preparation for confirmation, especially if they are poorly catechized. This book is also a great start for introducing friends to the Church who are curious but unaware of what the Church believes.

Outstanding

I highly recommend Bishop Wuerl's masterful explanation of the Faith. His brief chapters, arranged to parallel and explain the Catechism of the Catholic Church, read like four-page essays on the deposit of faith entrusted to the Church. Readers are invited to "dig deeper" into the official Catechism should they desire more detailed explanations.Bishop Wuerl's prose is clear and elegant. It's no wonder he's called "the teaching bishop." The Catholic Way is a great resource for catechists and participants in parish RCIA programs.
