Not a Good Voice for Israel

Good points are made, but by the wrong guy. Dershowitz is clearly a predator and not the best example of someone who should be defending Israel.

An eloquent defense of a worthy ally

I am not Jewish so I don't have an emotional investment in the the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. After reading this book, I simply can't understand how anyone could deny Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state within at least its pre-1967 borders. Dershowitz shows how time after time (1937, 1948, 1967, 2000) the Arabs consistently refused any sort of compromise with the Jews. His assertions are well-documented, and he does an especially fine job of exposing Noam Chomsky and Edward Said for the frauds that they are. Frankly, after reading this book, I felt a sense of outrage at the double standard that Israel must endure.

a concise, clear read

i was never a huge fan of dershowitz, but must commend him for this book. i must say though, that most of the information in this book is readily availible to anyone who cares enough to investigate for themselves the conflict in the middle east, albeit not through conventional news sources but through a careful perusing of facts and actual international law. people throw around terms like human rights, occupation, and illegal, but what do the laws and UN resolutions actually state regarding these issues? unfortunatly not enough people in the media care to investigate. here the laws and realities of the situation are documented, and one would be hard pressesd to deny arguments made in this book. kudos to Dershowitz for compiling all the information into one compendium, so that if you want to see what international laws and various treaties actually say, you dont have to expend the amount of effort i had to. an honest, concise read, highly recommended.

The Case for Israel

Excellent book about the Arab-Israeli conflict. As usual, Allan Dershowitz explains the issues clearly. I highly recomend this book to anyone interested in this most volatile and important region of the world.

Speaking Facts to Fiction

... At last here is a book, meticulously researched, not relying on polemics but packed with real quotes, statistics and maps that stand the lock-step Arab rejectionists - and their "Progressive" fellow-travelers - on their head. From the controversy of Deir Yassin (has anyone out there ever heard of the Kfar Etzion massacre or Haj Amin Al Husseini?) Arab voices are given ample opportunity to damn themselves out of their own mouths. While not hesitating to fault Israel, Professor Dershowitz provides overwhelming evidence of the rampant disinformation and outright lies that have produced not only a terribly skewed version of history of the Arab States and their Jewish neighbor (that's right - you've never heard the region described like that - novel, isn't it?) but have also paved the way for the recrudescence of global antisemitism. Read it and have your precious politically correct hatred of Israel shattered.

A Light of Truth

Dershowitz unveils the "Big Lies" that seem to permeate so much of the world's perception of the world's only Jewish state. This book tears away the mantle of rationality and respectability shrouding so much of the anti-semitism that is leveled at Israel. ... A Must Read for anyone concerned about human rights, justice, and the right of this oasis of democracy and civilization to exist.
