Showing the other side of the dope game

Very good book. Realism at its finest. Makes one accept the fact that not all are going to make it. I appreciated Ms. Swinson showing the other side of the drug world. The side where the lives of people and the innocent members of their families are ruined. The utter waste caused by the drug epidemic. Street life is not all glitter and glamour. It is filthy, grimy, and a disgraceful stronghold on too many American lives. Young people need to know this side before they leap.

KiKi Did It Again...

Ok where do I EVEN start with this one. I've read about 5 or 6 of KiKi's books and they're all page turners. The Candy Shop is gritty, grimy and as hood as you could possibly get without ever stepping foot into it. She took you from the palace to your worst nightmare of a drug-infested ghetto. As fiction as this story was about Faith and Teresa, I personally know people who have destroyed their lives as well as their families/friends with that endless journey to the next high. What started out as one friend trying to be there for another friend turned into a downward spiral for the both of them to the depths of addiction. The realism of this book is almost eerie (if you've ever known any addicts). This could've very easily been someone's autobiography. Just when you thought that Faith and Teresa couldn't go any lower, they dug deeper and stooped to new lows. This book was amazing. So real. I could see the whole rags to riches thing unfolding with each turn of the page. I finished this book in a few days. Without giving up any clues to the ending of this book, I especially like the way KiKi chose to end it. Now that was gangsta... Yep, KiKi did it again....

I GOT A SWEET TOOTH FROM THE CANDY SHOP!!

THIS BOOK WAS PURE FIYAH! I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN. YOU GO KIKI, YOU DID A THROW BACK MOVE ON THIS ONE! I'M SURE THERE'S GOING TO BE A PART 2. CAN'T WAIT TO READ IT.

Awesome!!

The Candy Shop was a great read. Kiki Swinson has shown us another side to her creativity. She has taken Urban Lit to another level with this one. I was intrigued with the gritty way she reveals the consequences of her heroine caught up in drug abuse. I'm looking forward to Wifey 3 and anything else Ms. Swinson publishes.

Off the chain!!!!

This book was a page turner. I loved it from the beginning to the end. I read it in one day. Can't wait for her next book to come out.
