Atop the rocky coast of Maine sits the Towers, a magnificent family mansion--home to a decades-old legend, hidden emeralds and the unforgettable Calhoun women. #1 New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Nora Roberts brings us two unforgettable and classic love stories. Suzanna's Surrender Burned-out and tired as hell, the only thing ex-cop Holt Bradford wanted to do was relax. But when beautiful single mom Suzanna invaded his solitude to search for the missing Calhoun emeralds, he couldn't say no. Holt was no longer the bad-boy teen Suzanna remembered. He'd grown into a dangerously sexy man--all the more reason to keep a safe distance. Suzanna wouldn't risk her well-ordered life for a man who could make her mouth go dry with a simple glance. Megan's Mate Calhoun sister-in-law Megan O'Riley and her young son have traveled far to become the Towers' newest residents and begin a fresh chapter in their lives. Cool as an Atlantic breeze, Megan buried her passions deep and vowed never to let her heart lead her astray again. But when boat captain Nate Fury set his course for her, not even Megan's toughest resistance could divert him. The practical lady seemed destined to be swept away by the rugged seaman's formidable charm....
I love this series. Great characters, and it keeps you interested the whole time!

This was a great conclusion to the series. Each book can stand on his own but Nora Robert threads the grandmother lost jewels throughout the series. It was great -- couldn't put the book it down!

"Megan's Mate" was my favorite story in this set. While all of the Calhouns are great..this story was a bit different since Megan wasn't one of the 4 sisters. Great reading....and Kevin was such a little sweetie!
Enjoyable sequel and conclusion to The Calhouns

I enjoy light romance mixed with some mystery/adventure and with well developed secondary characters. These last two stories of the 4 Calhoun sisters and their sister-in-law were very touching as both women, Suzanna and Megan, were single moms. Suzanna through divorce and Megan as a never married and left-in-the-lurch innocent. Suzanna particulary had a rough time trusting herself and her feelings after a very rough marriage and had so much concern for her sons that as a mom myself I could empathize. Megan was so young when she trusted innocently (here is another reason that abstinence before marriage is not a bad idea) and was so hurt and ignored by the father of her child. The secondary characters of Dutch and Aunt Coco were lots of fun and you could feel how Dutch was nervous about the whole thing but couldn't fight it. And then you add in the mystery of the emeralds and Bianca and Christian's relationship and that was very touching as well. I recommend it -- not as a heavy serious mystery but as a light, touchingly funny and sensitive set of stories.
