As a first grade teacher, I am always on the look-out for books that early readers can pick up and enjoy. I like to have plenty of titles that are pattern stories. "The Bus Stop" is one of these, yet it has so much more to offer! In this story, the crucial question is, "...But, can you seen the bus yet?" My students get involved with answering this. Each turn of the page brings in new characters that are ethnically diverse, and have jobs/positions that are also. This story even has a "surprise" ending that kids just love! My daughter found this book before I did, and it remains one of her very favorites. If you have a copy of this book, don't let it go! If you don't have one for your classroom or your own kids, get one soon! This book is great!
