Often using down-to-earth examples to make his point, Ralph Hummel paints a realistic picture of bureaucracy and all that is contained within and without it. It is easy to tell someone how to make trains run on time. Ralph Hummel goes further and explains the manager's role during a train wreck. Even if you believe in bureaucracies, anyone managing, dreaming of managing, or curious about being managed should read this book.
