It explores family, relationships, unconditional love, and substance abuse by following the lives of Abel and Chester Valentine, two brothers that have starkly different outlooks on life. Both, for their own reasons, move to New York City to give themselves a fresh start, but soon realise that the lives they were running towards may just be even more dangerous than the ones they were running away from.
