why can't more books be like this

I just dusted off this book again as I found it incredibly helpful to affirming my single life, after being absolutely sick of books about being single. (I just threw one across the room as it implied that my current reasons for being single are not necessarily good enough) This one helps changing the state of mind instead of trying to change the state of a relationship or changing yourself. Why can't more books have this kind of feelling??? Its along with my omigosh i am single therapy, which includes an awesome thrift shop, sex and the city episodes and really taking advantage of my degree program. Seriously, why can't more books have this kind of tone???????? Way to live up to more liberating images of women and not make them feel like they need to change who they are. I guess that I wish there was a sequel on this called the Baby Wave....

What a fantastic book!!!!!

This book was excellent; I just went through all this with my best friend a few months ago and it really put into perspective what I've been going through. I was really missing our old friendship and feeling sorry for me: why am I not married/in a serious relationship, etc. It made me look at things on a much more positive side. Besides that, the anecdotes are wonderful! I got it from the library but it made me feel so good and had such great advice for getting through this with your dignity intact and without winging out at the reception! that I am going to buy my own copy!!

Not your standard self-help book

I heard about this book on the radio and the authors were really funny. I picked up a copy and though I'm not usually one who reads "self-help" (sounds about as enticing as "new age"), I thought it was really good. It made me feel better to know that I'm not the only one who's had mixed emotions when yet another friend of mine gushes about her engagement. And it made me laugh out loud a couple of times. I don't know about you, but all these stories about everyone being single and marriage being on the decline don't ring true in my circle of friends. I'm 28, and I've been to 6 weddings in the past year!

It is about time!

I am so glad that there is finally a book that corresponds to the 21st century single woman!I have not found any other book that I could relate to in regards to this time in my life. Everything that is currently written about marriage is about the planning process. There is nothing available for those who are not married but feel the pressure! I thank Erin and Valerie for their insight into what is really going on with many single women today! They have been courageous enough to be able to write a book that really indicates how different the times are! I am going to recommend this book to many friends as well as cousins who will be able to resonate with this Bridal Wave Survival Guide.

Really fun to read!

I thought this book was really funny and helpful -- even if you are sick of chick lit or hate self-help books, you'll enjoy it. The writing is clever and smart and the writers share lots of personal stories from their own lives, which I particularly enjoyed. I recommend it if you are being driven crazy by your friends getting married or even if you aren't.
