Katherine Grant worked as a desk clerk at a upscale hotel, she lead a dull life, but she liks it. Then one day she got a call from widowed Princess Natalia Karenska. The Princess thought her young daughter Nina had been poisoned by one of her staff, as she feels her husband Vasilli was killed by her brother-in-law King Anton; the people of their country Tirhanian loved her husband, so out of jealousy King Anton had Vasilli killed, and was now targeting her son Joachim, King Anton's heirs. Natalia hired Kathy to be her secretary companion. The Princess' brother-in-law Prince Leonid steps in he finds that the child is just having a tummy ache, but secured Kathy for Natalia then off they went to Paris. Then Leon gets a friend, Colonel Karl Zanin to take Natalia & Kathy to Rome. Natalia comes up with another idea, that this is another way to have her & her kids killed, so she sneaks off late at night with the kids & Kathy, but they only get as far as Genoa, Italy, when the plane has to make a forced landing so that the Princess & her party can be taken off the plane by Prince Leon. He takes them to his God-mother Signora Albinhieri's house where they stay for some weeks. Just as Leon gets to becoming charming in steps Baroness Liczak & her beautiful daughter Sonja. Kathy is taken to the opera to find the Prince ignores her, but during a intermission Kathy tells a reporter that the lady with Prince Leon is his soon to be wife, because Signora Albinhieri told Kathy this was the way of Royal people married. It turns out to be a lie, Leon rags Kathy, Kathy leaves the villa & goes back to England. Former Prince Leon flys to England finds Kathy. Now he is charming.
