Usually I like to browse through cookbooks - looking at the pictures of appealing foods while searching for new recipes. This cookbook brought an added delight. I found myself actually reading the "stuff" inbetween recipes - spiritual reflections about food and what it means for us to gather around the table to share a meal. As an Episcopal priest, I felt a sense of pride that women in my denomination not only recorded their favorite recipes but also wanted to share how meaningful it was for them to prepare them for their own families as well as their "church families."
