Great first in a mystery series

This is the actual first book in the series, that l read on after picking up book two, Vallet of Death at a used bookstore. It follows teacher and sleuth Allison Aldridge in her first actual mystery. It also is the first them she works wit Fred the investigating. There dynamic is interesting Allison indivorced with kids in college. Fred never married and lives alone. In this story an older woman is found dead after deciding to sell the family property to developers. It was fun for a mystery. With some bit of christian elements in it.
