Good brief Bible Commentary

This is a brief and readable commentary on the early Israelite kingdom from Samuel through Solomon. It is from the conservative viewpoint, which I espouse. Though it is brief and readable, it surely touches many scholarly subjects from archaelolgy,and textual questions to modern discussions and spirituality. I'd readily recommend it to a beginner, or a scholar.
