The Billionaire's Blackmailed Bride

From the back cover: Marriage in haste, revenge at leaisure! Anton Diaz is hell-bent on revenge; he'll seduce and marry innocent daughter of his enemy. To exact his plan will be no hardship, as Emily Fairfax is as beautiful as she is virginal. It's only after that Emily realizes Anton is blackmailing her. Yet she can't stop her body betraying her as they spend their days parted in anger and their nights locked in passion. My take: The hero feels an instant attraction to the heroine the moment he shakes her hand. The intense physical attraction leads the hero to want to marry the heroine, Emily instead of using hostile takeover of her family's company as a means to get back at her for her father's alleged deceit. The hero in this book falls in love with the heroine very early in the novel although he was in complete denial. Emily is far from a pushover, she stands up to the hero whenever he is rude to her. There is a scene where he watches Emily dive off the side of his yatt 30 meters into the sear and his heart drops, and he panics for her safety. Baird also gives us a hero who has not sleep with everything in a skirt :)for this she deserves a pat on the back. In a time where there are so many STDs, one must be careful with who he/she sleeps with. After the herione screams at him for sleeping around, the hero takes great pride in telling the heroine that he can count the number of women who he has been with on both hands. I can't speak for other women, but I know I don't want a man who has known every woman about town. Do not for a moment think that his low number makes him boring or incompetent in bed because he is just the opposite. He rocks Emily's world, and has hooked. There is a lot of sex in the novel to which is not bad as I've been reading 80's HP and many of them have none. I hope you have enjoyed my long and boring review. Jacqueline Baird is my favorite Harlequin romance writer. I really loved this story for a number of reasons
